Analysis

WORKXPLORE offers a comprehensive set of specialized analysis tools

WORKXPLORE 3D's specialized analysis tools can be used for estimating, diagnostics, assembly notes or preparing 3D models for production.

WORKXPLORE also offers a range of analysis functions that are normally only available in more expensive CAD solutions.

In addition to being extremely fast and efficient (even on very large models), the program functions are very easy to use, with results displayed in color on the 3D model. With a single click, labels are automatically inserted on the surfaces, showing the precise values of the various calculations applied.

Functions include:

Dynamic Section
Dynamic Section effectively allows users to explore the interior of a part or assembly easily and accurately. The dynamic reference controller allows users to control the section plane with the mouse in rotational directions and by moving or following a guide curve. The cross-section can be made visible in the 3D model or as an isolated entity, and can be extracted and exported via the DXF and DWG interfaces...
In addition, 3D measurements can be performed on the dynamic section without the need to extract geometric data.

Envelope box
The creation of the envelope box of a part or set of parts is instantaneous. It can be done automatically (minimum volume) or following a user-defined orientation. It provides information on the dimensions, volume and weight of the selected items, and can also be used to determine the optimal stock model required for manufacturing.
In addition, minimum or oriented Wraparound Cylinders can be created.

Faces and Entity Information
Accurate measurement information: The information is available for both objects and surfaces, and allows a quick calculation of volumes and areas. Additional information such as object name, elevation, number of faces, etc. is also available.

Angle of Inclination
Calculations and visualization of angles and undercuts are extremely fast, even on large parts. WORKXPLORE colors angles and undercuts automatically according to the defined axis. Accurate values of the inclination angle are dynamically displayed when the mouse passes over the surfaces and can be inserted by default in the 3D model.

Curvature Analysis
The analysis of curvature radii and flat faces is a practical tool for users to quickly evaluate costs and production time. The coloring of the elements to be analyzed is automatic and users can insert measurement labels containing precise values of the selected elements.
With WORKXPLORE, the user can display only concave radii, convex radii or both.

Analysis of Plane Faces
This new analysis function allows to differentiate the types of faces (planes, cylinders, cones, torus, NURBS, etc.) of a model.

Automatic 3D Model Comparison
Automatic 3D model comparison provides a 3D graphical display of the differences between two versions of the same model. Modifications are clearly identified by colors to differentiate added matter from deleted matter.
With a simple click, users can measure the difference in matter between two models.

Plane Projection
The projection of a 3D model to create an object that represents a projected area of an element on a plane.

Edge and Edge Analysis
Edge and edge analysis allows to know the sharp and tangent edges of a model to be identified and analyzed.

Thickness Analysis
The Thickness Analysis function can be used to highlight critical areas on mechanical or plastic parts. The values are represented by a color scale with the option to be displayed progressively. Three levels of accuracy determine the speed and quality of the analysis. Users can also obtain specific thickness information at a point by simply clicking on the area of the model.

Improved Edge and Contour Analysis
It is now possible to extract curves from edge and contour analysis. Only the displayed entities are extracted. The result can be saved in the current layer or in a new layer. When the function is active, users can select edges to get detailed information about them. The color of the edge varies gradually depending on the tangency values. Tangency values can also be displayed.
