SMARTPM is part of the consortium of companies participating in the project "Development of machines and systems for the competitive manufacturing of aeronautical components", known by the acronym "ABIO II" (File No.: ZE-2020/00009).
The consortium, led by Ibermática, also includes Egile, Fagor Automation, Goialde, GMTK, Ibarmia, Sariki, Segula, Tekniker, Tecnalia, AOTEK, CFAA, Vicomtech and UPV/EHU.
A joint boost to the sector's competitiveness
ABIO II is an industrial research and experimental development project that aims to identify, develop and evaluate (in controlled environments with realistic conditions) new concepts, as well as new products, services and advanced solutions specially adapted to the needs of the aeronautical sector.
The strategic objective of the project is to increase the competitiveness of companies supplying machined parts and subcomponents within the aeronautical sector.
Considering the context of the aeronautical sector, five key aspects have been identified to increase competitiveness:
- Significantly reduce the development times of the entire production life cycle (design-manufacturing), which forces all the components of the value chain (machine tool manufacturers, components and accessories) to significantly reduce their development and fine-tuning times.
- Increase productivity.
- Reduce costs.
- Strengthen the zero-defect strategy.
- Provide unit traceability throughout the entire supply chain.
SMARTPM participates with the MIC automation solution.
SMARTPM participates in the project as one of the providers of advanced solutions and services that enable the digitization of the value chain and the improvement of competitiveness.
The strategic objective of this project is to complete the development of our product Manufacture Intelligence Core (MIC) to the point of commercialization.
MIC provides intelligence and autonomy to the manufacturing cells in order to move towards a flexible manufacturing system that reacts to changes, whether foreseen or unforeseen. Its ultimate goal is to maintain productivity and lead-time levels in the face of changes in batch size and product type.
Basque-European co-financing
The ABIO II project, is co-financed by the Basque Government, through the SPRI through the Hazitek program, and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 (ERDF).
