We accompany you in all phases of the automation process

At SMARTPM we approach digitization and manufacturing automation projects from a global perspective, also accompanying you in change management.

Find out how we help you automate your industrial processes

Our work methodology helps to successfully carry out the proposed objectives and minimize project risks.

01

UNDERSTAND THE SCOPE

We understand the customer's starting point and define the challenge.

Although the production processes are similar, the reality of each company is unique. Before taking action, we study the business, its context and what is the most important motivation for this industrial automation project.

We define whether the project is intended to solve a problem, address a challenge or complement the company's engineering resources.

  • Physical assets.
  • Internal procedures and productivity KPIs.
  • Quality protocols and takt time requirements.
  • Supplier management.
  • Linked IT environment and security policies.
  • People involved.

WHAT IS YOUR STARTING POINT?

SOME OF THE CASES THAT WE HAVE DEALT WITH

  • This is the first time we are thinking of automating.
  • We need to adequately define the flows by applying process engineering.
  • We have some automated assets but lack a complete view of the process.
  • We would like to fully integrate the assets and manage them centrally.
  • We collect a lot of data automatically, but we fail to improve production.
  • We have installed a handling solution and need to align the whole process.
  • Our processes are well defined, but we need to integrate IT with OT.

02

PROCESS DIAGNOSIS AND ACTION PLAN

We study in detail the quality of the production process and its elements.

Hand in hand with the customer and from our knowledge in manufacturing processes and metrology, we study in detail the processes and the elements that make it up:

  • Physical assets
  • Internal procedures and productivity KPIs
  • Quality protocols and demand requirements (takt time)
  • Supplier management
  • Linked IT environment and security policies
  • People involved

ENGINEERING TEAM PROPOSAL

  • We measure the maturity level of the client's processes.
  • We identify key processes and benchmark indicators such as OEE.
  • We measure your quality and identify problems that occur specifically in the fabrication shop.
  • We identify barriers to change and define mitigation or correction actions.

ACTION PLAN

  • We indicate improvements in terms of overall process quality and efficiency.
  • We indicate improvements in machining and metrology functions.
  • Supported by the MIC, we propose an action plan with actions aimed at optimizing the industrial process.

03

IMPLANTATION

We execute the action plan and quickly implement the defined improvements.

We implement and configure the automation system with the scope defined together with the customer. Process optimization can cover different areas of performance:

  • Determination of workflows
  • IT layer alignment
  • Implementation and configuration of the MIC platform and the defined automations.
  • Solution verification and optimization

AGILE IMPLEMENTATION METHODOLOGY

  • We articulate the action plan in sprints. That is to say, we subdivide the project to achieve a more efficient and agile execution.
  • We continuously and preliminarily measure the expected return on each action.

TURNKEY APPROACH

  • The client can prioritize and delimit the scope of the actions before implementing them.
  • The first pilot tests can be carried out in our FACTORY Lab with real levels of demand.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Adapting to a new system always involves a certain level of frustration. For this reason, we assist the client in the adaptation of the workforce.
  • We have training plans oriented to your needs that allow you to maximize the return of the implemented solutions and to make a proactive change management.

04

FOLLOW UP

We accompany the client after start-up and monitor the impacts generated.

Although the production processes are similar, the reality of each company is unique. Before taking action, we study the business, its context and what is the most important motivation for this industrial automation project.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT REQUIRED

  • We can also assist companies in O&M functions, with the objective of increasing the efficiency of information systems, administrative procedures and/or operations control.
  • We even contemplated the possibility of remote management of the automated cells.

We test all proposed solutions on a customized basis.

In our FACTORY Lab we test all automation projects with the MIC system, with real workpieces and real demands.

Allows:

  • Making visible what we are doing
  • Progressing with the implementation of processes with customers
  • Speed up delivery times
  • Reduce all risks associated with start-up and implementation of production processes.

MIC Solutions

We offer specific MIC configurations for milling and EDM with the modules you need according to your production needs.
